Guide: How to Get Google for Nonprofits

Google for Nonprofits offers free products to optimize your resources and expand your organization's impact.
What does Google for Nonprofits include?
It offers free tools for NGOs, helping you manage your work more efficiently and reach more people. Here are the 4 products available through Google for Nonprofits:
• Google Workspace for Nonprofits: Includes free Gmail, Drive, Meet, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, and Slides for collaborating with your team.
• Google Ad Grants: Provides up to $10,000 per month in free ads on Google search to help your NGO reach more people and raise awareness of its mission. Here’s a guide on how to activate it.
• YouTube for Nonprofits: Allows you to create fundraising campaigns for NGOs and attract new collaborators, donors, or volunteers in your area.
• Google Maps: Lets you customize maps to show your projects, events, or key locations, helping users easily find your NGO
How to apply to Google for Nonprofits?
1. Check the requirements: Review Google's guide and make sure your organization is registered as a charity in your country. In Latin America, it is available in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, and Puerto Rico.
2. Request an account: Go to Google for Nonprofits and click “Get Started.” If you already have a Google account, the system will guide you through the process to request access to the free products.
3. Wait for verification: Google works with Goodstack to verify the legal status of each organization. This process should take a maximum of 14 business days. Goodstack may ask for more information by email, so be sure to check your spam folders as well.
4. Activate Google for Nonprofits products: Once your organization is verified, activate the products from Google. Each product is activated separately, so request them according to your needs. Check Google’s guides for step-by-step instructions.
How to avoid suspension of your Google for Nonprofits account?
Follow these recommendations:
• Keep your account active: Don’t stop using it for more than 60 days.
• Review the usage policies: Align your activities with Google's policies.
• Manage storage: If you exceed the storage limit for two consecutive years, Google may remove content.
If your account is suspended, review the notifications and correct the errors. Then, request restoration through Google for Nonprofits' technical support.
