Propel promotes the use of AI in the social sector with Google.org’s support

500 Mexican nonprofits will be trained in AI thanks to a $1 million grant from Google.org as part of a broader initiative across Spanish-speaking Latin America. Registration is now open.

Technology is transforming the social sector. However, in Mexico, only 15% of nonprofits have an advanced level of digital adoption.

To help close this gap, Propel created the AI Nonprofit Academy, offering free, virtual courses designed specially for nonprofits. The goal is to enable them to use artificial intelligence in their daily operations, optimizing their time and scaling their impact.

With Google.org's support, Google’s philanthropic arm,Propel will train 500 Mexican social organizations. This commitment to the social sector was announced during the event “IA para el impacto social” held at the Centro Mexicano para la Filantropía (Cemefi). The event combined inspiration and action through an expert panel and a hands-on workshop for social organizations.

"Artificial intelligence is not just a technological tool; it is a catalyst for human potential. Through our support of Propel’s AI Nonprofit Academy, we hope social organizations in Mexico can stop investing time in operational processes and redirect their energy toward what truly matters: transforming lives. By democratizing access to AI, we are scaling the impact of those working toward a more equitable future," said Hugo Martínez McNaught, Head of Government Relations and Public Policy for Google Mexico.
