We celebrate 3 years at Propel
Propel was born with the dream of strengthening the social sector in Latin America. This month, we celebrate three years of making that dream a reality. Exceptional leaders are working tirelessly to solve the region's most pressing challenges. At Propel, we empower them and create opportunities for them to scale their impact. Today, we are a vibrant community of over 150 social organizations.
It’s been an exciting journey full of learning. We’ve exceeded our own expectations, and the most beautiful part has been finding, as a team, the strength to overcome every obstacle along the way. Our community has been our motivation and inspiration to keep improving every day.
Our Reflections:
1. A Shared Dream Drives You Forward
The dream must belong to the entire team, not just the founders. Having a shared dream inspires us to give our best and go the extra mile in everything we do. In any venture—especially nonprofits—the team must believe that the dream is achievable and that every step brings you closer to it.
2. The Path is Made by Walking
Starting something new is always daunting. We’ve learned that every milestone, no matter how small—like our first workshop or our first fellowship—gave us the confidence to dream bigger. Sometimes, you have to take the leap without all the answers and trust that, step by step, the path will unfold. Reminder: to draw a map, someone had to walk the road blindly for the first time.
3. Don’t Forget to Have Fun
The path of social entrepreneurship is full of challenges and frustrations, so it’s essential to remember to have fun and enjoy it. For us, every experience is a "party with purpose": we embrace every moment, from the memes and music in our workshops to our community dynamics. Fun is part of our DNA and a key ingredient in everything we do.
Thank you for being part of these three years of learning. More than celebrating an anniversary, we celebrate every person who believed in Propel and dared to be part of this dream. We know the future is bright, and we are ready to face it.
